1.   Anyone who survived the cave-in would now have spent three days and nights in freezing temperatures in the smashed bus, which rescuers can see but not get to.

2.   But aside from a few isolated fights and a couple of smashed bus windows, the rally was largely peaceful, police said.

3.   Niiyama, of the Hokkaido Development Bureau, said he expected workers to have complete access to the smashed bus at arond midday.

4.   Workers were able to cut into both ends of the smashed bus, it said.
