1. Hanging on from the last couple of winters, quilted coats, jackets and vests have become mainstream, and the puffier, the better. 2. The quilted coats were originally used to keep fishermen warm and dry but soon evolved into ceremonial robes when fishermen assumed positions of authority. 3. The summer ballgown is black with a long quilted coat to top a long sleeveless dress. 4. Long quilted coats opened to show bright knit motifs on the dresses underneath - cloud-and-wave Japanese motifs as only Mori could plan them. 5. Red and gold songket was used to make a kimono-style quilted coat, worn on top of a slinky, strappy red dress. 6. There were lovely butterfly blouses -- little silk butterflies on quilted short evening coats, lame-shot pleated dresses with butterfly prints. |
