1.   Another cardinal rule in laying insulation on an attic floor is to avoid putting insulation in the soffits, which are where the roof overhangs the wall.

3.   Can I put insulation above the ceiling?

4.   Can I put insulation against the chimney?

5.   Can I put insulation on top of the floor, or should it go under it?

6.   Can I put insulation over it?

7.   Can I put insulation directly against the brick chimney, touching it?

8.   Can any insulation be put in the space where the weights go up and down?

9.   Do not put insulation in the eaves or the roof.

10.   If in doubt, you could replace the fixtures with the new zero-clearance, self-ventilating fixtures that would allow insulation to be put around and over them.
