4.   The list includes companies that specialize in devices for use in cardiovascular procedures and orthopedic implants and surgical instruments.

5.   These companies currently account for well over half the orthopedic implants used at Premier hospitals.

6.   Biomet manufactures medical devices such as orthopedic implants, surgical instruments and operating room supplies.

7.   The company is working to divest itself of its Clairol haircare business and its Zimmer division, which makes orthopedic implants and devices.
