1.   California will allow a lumber company to begin limited logging of ancient giant redwoods in the last privately owned virgin stand of the trees in the world.

2.   The family can continue limited industrial logging and the public will still have recreational access, although there are no plans to transform the land into a park.

3.   The foresters say that limited logging and controlled burning are therefore best in the long term for the woods and streams.

4.   Those could include more limited logging, tourism or the development of medicines from forest plants.
