1.   Carlos Gonzalez, chief of the four-man Rio Hondo Police Department, said the victims of the shooting apparently did not know their assailant.

2.   Homicide Inspector Jim Bergstrom said there was no sign of forced entry, indicating that Pifarre may have known his assailant or brought him home with him.

3.   It was not clear whether the injured men knew their assailant or whether one or all three took part in the argument, whose cause was not known.
