1.   But Phil Bruno, vice president at keyboard maker Key Source International in Hayward, Calif., says many businesses are warming to the idea, privacy concerns notwithstanding.

2.   Other keyboard makers now feel they have to provide them as well.

3.   Polaroid and other companies are negotiating with keyboard makers to install the scanner along the top of standard boards.

4.   Some have tried to pin it on the latter, saying designs are faulty and conducive to injury, while keyboard makers insist that work habits are the culprit.
