1. Although the heavier snow showers that have plagued some locations east of the Great Lakes during the last several days will diminish, flurries will linger. 2. As the chilly air passes the relatively mild waters of the Great Lakes, heavier snow showers will form over western parts of New York and Michigan. 3. As the chilly air is heated and moistened upon crossing the Great Lakes, locally heavier snow showers will form downwind of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. 4. As the chilly air passes the still tepid waters of the northern Great Lakes, heavier snow showers will develop in northern Michigan. 5. Bands of heavier snow squalls will develop near the eastern shores of Lakes Erie and Ontario ascold winds gain moisture in passing across the warmer lake water. 6. A band of heavier snow may develop in northern Kansas and Nebraska on Thursday night. 7. A burst of heavier snow will produce a couple of quick inches in some spots. 8. A brief period of heavier snow is likely east of Lakes Erie and Ontario as additional moisture is gathered over the warmer lake waters. 9. A few heavier snow showers will occur in the mountains of West Virginia. 10. A period of heavier wet snow is possible Saturday night in parts of western Tennessee and the lower Ohio Valley. |
