1. In the bottom of the third, the Angels put runners on first and second with one out when Salmon flied to center for the second out. 2. John Olerud flied to center for what should have been the final out. 3. Morandini flew to center for the third out. 4. There was still the matter of the complete game and, of course, the W. Pinch hitter Midre Cummings flied to center for the second out. 5. Things got hot in the bottom of the second when Henderson flied to center for the third out. 6. Tim Salmon flied to center for the first out, but Gordon then walked Chili Davis. 7. Thursday night, Suzuki escaped a shaky first by getting Will Clark to fly to center to strand two runners, both of whom had walked. 8. Rick Wilkins then flied to center where Timo Perez jumped three times, waving his arms, before making the catch. 9. Righty Nelson came in and got righty Mike Stanley to fly to center for the first out. |
