1.   The luncheon for the festival queens is followed by a giant dinner Friday night featuring food from famous Louisiana chefs and Louisiana music ranging from blues to zydeco.

2.   The luncheon, which featured festival queens from practically every parish, was held in the ornate hallway near the House chamber that contains statues of historic Americans.

3.   There will be marching bands and festival queens and lines of imitation pace cars, all running to a schedule famous for its military-like precision.

4.   Wearing tiaras that set off metal detectors all around the Capitol, the festival queens were appropriately excited.
