1.   The shuttle climbed steeply into a clear blue sky on an easterly course, trailing a dagger of fiery exhaust.

2.   After crossing Florida, the storm was expected to turn onto a more easterly course and head northeast into the Atlantic.

3.   Then Exile, which had set a more easterly course, made up ground as the wind dropped.

4.   Leading them in is the instrument guidance system, or IGS, which puts the aircraft on a steady easterly course.
