1.   Both paint thinner and the detergent solution will dull the finish, but it can be restored by buffing vigorously but lightly with a dry cloth.

2.   Both the paint thinner and Spic and Span will dull the finish, but it can be restored by polishing with a dry cloth.

3.   If you want to try and just dull the finish you can merely sand it down lightly, then wipe off with paint thinner to remove the sanding dust.

4.   If this dulls the finish you should be able to restore the luster by waxing or polishing.

5.   It will dull the finish, which you can repolish by buffing with a dry cloth.

6.   Paint thinner will also clean the floors, but will dull the finish.

7.   Polish tends to build up and dull the finish.

8.   The handyman tried some fancy marble cleaner on a beautiful red marble-top commode and did nothing but dull the finish.

9.   These will dull the finish, but most of the shine can be restored by vigorous but light buffing with a dry cloth.

10.   These solutions may dull the finish, but it can be restored by briskly polishing with a dry cloth.
