1. Always drill a starting, or pilot, hole before driving a screw into wood. 2. An early repair was to fill the chewed-up hole with wood matches, then drive the screws. 3. As for mounting the boxes, if they are closed at the back, simply drive two screws through the backs of the boxes and into the posts. 4. Attach the fiberboard panels to the channels with short screws, being careful not to drive the screws through the channels into the underlying wall surface. 5. Choose the proper screwdriver and drive the screw into place. 6. Driving the screws takes longer than hammering a nail, but because the studs are pre-punched for electrical and plumbing connections, less cutting is involved. 7. Driving the screw through the hole should pull the rail and baluster securely together. 8. Driving each screw in by hand is so hard that I get blisters and have to rest after each screw. 9. I have to drive screws into particleboard which is so hard that nothing seems to work. 10. I know I have to locate the studs to drive the screws into, and that is not difficult. |
