1.   In Odessa alone, thieves in recent days desecrated two monuments to Soviet World War II and Afghan war soldiers to steal metal, Interfax reported.

2.   It was unclear who had desecrated the monument.

3.   Last month, a Soviet monument was desecrated after a Russian naval holiday.

4.   The sentence for desecrating the monument is up to two years in jail, police said.
