1.   Oddly, the autumn cool snap in south Texas has come because a much colder air mass is surging southward into the Mississippi and Ohio valleys.

2.   Some people seemed distrustful of the cool snap, expecting that any moment the swelter would set in again.

3.   Sometime in August, we get a cool snap with that dry high-pressure, see-forever air that makes us put on a sweater at night.

4.   The current cool snap will yield to much warmer weather in the East this week.

5.   Tournament officials are winding down preparations, hopeful that a cool snap to the weather remains moderate.
