1. Ventilate well on sunny days but remember to close vents in the evening. 2. Better yet, you can close the vents off elsewhere, other than in the rooms themselves. 3. A neighbor said that if we do not close those vents in winter, we will lose heat. 4. Close the vents on the bottom to dampen the heat. 5. If everything is well insulated, there is no need to close the vents. 6. If there are no dampers in the round ducts, you will have to make do with closing the vents in each room affected. 7. If you close those vents in winter, chances are pretty good against freezing. 8. In winter, there is less moisture to deal with, so vents can be closed. 9. Keep the vent open until all the air is released and water begins to flow, then close the vent. 10. Keep the vent closed on other days to minimize heat loss. |
