1.   At his name, James Whitaker, royal correspondent of the Mirror, brightened as though you had changed his batteries.

2.   The control box has to be unscrewed and its top removed to change the batteries.

3.   You have to take the top off to change the batteries.

4.   And, it is to be hoped, they will also check and change the batteries in their smoke detectors.

5.   Change batteries in detectors at least annually.

6.   Changing a battery is not a technological feat akin to launching a space shuttle.

7.   Change the batteries twice a year.

8.   Check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and change the batteries if needed.

9.   I changed the battery, but the instrument was dead.
