1. Crucial to the effectiveness of such systems, in particular the quality of the video, is the band width of the transmission channel. 2. Ordinary analogue telephone lines used for voice communication have a low band width and cannot transmit much data per second. 3. Broadcast data via satellites also have a wide band width enabling good data transmission. 4. The wide band width suggests that such provision may not only be diverse but, where the application requires it, fully multimedia too. 5. Audio is one one-hundredth of the band width of video. 6. A PCS is similar to a cellular-phone system, though it operates at a higher frequency and can accommodate more subscribers in a particular band width. 7. Adding a switching hub effectively adds band width while retaining much of the current network structure. 8. By purchasing networks, studios assure themselves an outlet for their programming, an increasingly important asset in an age of limited broadcasting band width. 9. Compared to prior spectrum allocations, LMDS band width is practically unconstrained. |
