1.   Cox has calmly explained that he killed the couple during an alcoholic blackout and had only reconstructed memories of the murders.

2.   He contended that he committed the killings while suffering from an alcoholic blackout.

3.   He has said he was suffering from an alcoholic blackout during the killings.

4.   He should also speak out if he may have used cocaine but cannot remember because of an alcoholic blackout or some other reason.
