12.   Ahead of the front, partial sunshine will cover the middle Mississippi and lower Ohio valleys, though scattered afternoon thunderstorms will erupt in the humid air.

13.   By midday clusters of rain showers will cover a broad area from the Ohio River to the lower Mississippi River valley.

14.   Clusters of heavy showers and thunderstorms will douse parts of the central Mississippi, Tennessee and lower Ohio River valleys Wednesday.

15.   Clusters of thunderstorms will then develop ahead of a cold front pressing east through the lower Mississippi valley.

16.   Farther north, a chilly heavy rain will douse a narrow band stretching across southeast Oklahoma and northern Arkansas to the Tennessee and lower Ohio valleys.

17.   Farther north, mixed rain and snow showers will dampen the central Mississippi and lower Ohio valleys.

18.   Farther north, potent thunderstorms will erupt across the lower Missouri River valley.

19.   Gusty breezes from the southwest will send very mild air from the lower Mississippi valley into most of the eastern states.

20.   Heavy rain from these storms will result in localized flooding, especially in the middle Mississippi and lower Ohio valleys.
