3.   Cloudy but mild conditions will linger for the rest of the day, although skies may brighten east of the Appalachians.

4.   Cool and unsettled conditions will linger over much of the Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes, while high pressure keeps most of the East warm with little rain.

5.   Cool and gray conditions will linger from the northern Mississippi Valley across the Great Lakes states.

6.   Damp conditions will linger longest near the east coast of New England as a weak low-pressure area drifts slowly south of Cape Cod.

7.   In the West, cool and unsettled conditions will linger in northern sections.

8.   In the wake of the low, mostly cloudy and cool conditions will linger over much of the Middle Atlantic states.

9.   Inclement conditions will linger in the southern Middle Atlantic States as weakening low pressure moves off the Carolina coast.

10.   Meanwhile, sultry conditions will linger near the Southeast coast.
