A formidable pressure difference between the low and polar high pressure over Ontario will promote gusty winds across the Northeast. 3. Defiance rolls like the Arctic wind across Siberia. 4. Farther west, winds across the northern high plains will be tamed by Canadian high pressure ridging east from Montana. 5. However, a general movement to the northeast could send low clouds, rain and high winds across the Florida peninsula. 6. In other words, the high level winds across Florida were from the north, a direction not normally associated with record heat. 7. Low pressure over northern Kansas will become more vigorous, causing high winds across the upper Plains. 8. Oddly, the surface winds across most of this region were from the northeast, or the interior of Europe. 9. Offshore winds across southern California will promote warmer weather. 10. Persistent onshore winds across the Northwest will cause clouds and a few showers west of the Washington Cascades. |
