1.   A wide variety of containerized transshipment cargo is brought to Colombo from Indian ports to be picked up by larger vessels and taken to Europe and the far east.

2.   It too was carrying transshipment cargo from the Indian ports of Tuticorin and Cochin.

3.   Of the transshipment cargo, a large part will be containerised for direct loading while a subtantial volume being value-added cargo for re-export.

4.   The ship, owned by the Bengal Tiger line of Germany, was carrying transshipment cargo from the Indian port of Cochin.

5.   While declining to give an estimate of how much transshipment cargo the port could capture this year, Rajasingam is bullish that it would contribute a substantial portion.
