1.   As the milder air slides over the deep snow pack, areas of fog and drizzle will form with freezing drizzle in some interior valleys.

2.   But the melting moisture-laden snow pack undoubtedly will lead to flooding of many river and streams.

3.   Collected mainly from the Sierra snow pack, tap water has been treated, filtered and chlorinated before it comes out of the pipes.

4.   Depending on the snow pack and reservoir levels, hydroelectric plants may not be able to run at full bore, which would also worsen the situation.

5.   Heavy rains that percolated through the snow pack in the Washington Cascades have triggered natural avalanches at low elevations, lessening the danger of more snow slides.

6.   In some instances, the heavy rain percolated down into the weakened snow packs so much that thick slabs released from the mountains and exposed bare ground.

7.   Occasional snow showers will add slightly to the substantial snow pack across the region, particularly east of Lake Ontario and in the Adirondack mountains.

8.   The length of the season depends on the level of snow pack on the trails, which this week was at an ample three feet.

9.   The snow pack has begun to accumulate for another long winter in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost weather station in the United States.

10.   The storm not only rejuvenated the snow pack, it also is expected to reinvigorate interest in skiing.
