1. American commanders have said that fighting in Afghanistan may increase as the snow melts this spring. 2. As we pulled up beside our cabin at Cave Creek Ranch we could hear the creek, dry much of the year, rumbling with snow melt. 3. Gusty winds from the south will transport warm air from Dakotas into Canada, quickening the snow melt. 7. Heavy rain will taper off during the afternoon, but flooding is likely on some streams and rivers due to the combined rainfall and snow melt. 8. Icicles can occur any time snow melts, and that snow might be melting from the top down, the way it is supposed to. 9. In late May and early June, experienced white-water rafters can run the Middle Fork at its wildest on the full rush of the snow melt. 10. In some parts of Virginia, residents worried about whether the inevitable snow melt would flood creeks and rivers. |
