But the president in his testimony on Monday adamantly denied telling Ms. Currie or anyone else to retrieve the gifts, said a lawyer familiar with the testimony. 4. Clinton lawyers will stress that neither Lewinsky nor Currie, who at one point retrieved the gifts, say Clinton ordered it as alleged by House prosecutors. 5. Currie would be questioned about whether Clinton sought to influence her grand jury testimony and whether he told her to retrieve gifts he gave to Lewinsky. 6. Currie has testified that Lewinsky called her, and both Currie and Clinton have testified that the president did not direct his secretary to retrieve the gifts. 7.
