1.   Academics, not parking placards, were the talk of the town and reflected a team in transition.

2.   Nine UCLA football players pleaded no contest Wednesday to illegally obtaining handicapped parking placards, and were sentenced to fines, community service and probation.

3.   The use of parking placards came to light in January after a campus officer noticed a car with an improperly placed placard and questioned the driver.

4.   UCLA has suspended reserve football players Eric Whitfield and Keith Brown for two games for using bogus disabled parking placards.
