1. The next day, place the black fondant tiles all over the roof, in neat overlapping rows, securing them on with a little water or royal icing. 2. Place a row of tomatoes halfway overlapping eggplant, and continue overlapping rows of eggplant and tomatoes until they are all used. 4. Place flaked almonds neatly in overlapping rows on the ends of the wings and tail, beginning at the tip, to simulate feathers. 5. Starting with one kind of squash, lay out one overlapping row. 6. Top the gratin with the reserved potato slices, arranging the slices in decorative overlapping rows. 7. We use at least eight vegetables, for flavor variety and the eye appeal of colorful overlapping rows of slices. |
