1.   Agricultural Minerals, based in Tulsa, Okla., operates two nitrogen fertilizer plants, Kaplan said.

2.   Agrium will fold its plans to build another nitrogen plant at San Lorenzo, in the province of Sante Fe, into the joint venture.

3.   Profertil plans to build a nitrogen fertilizer plant at Bahia Blanca, in the province of Buenos Aires.

4.   The fertilizer company yesterday said it will close its Wilmington, North Carolina-based nitrogen plant by the end of next April because of its high operating costs.

5.   The winner will be responsible for funding and operating the nitrogen plant.

6.   The project calls for construction of a nitrogen plant on protected land around the Laguna de Terminos lagoon in the southeastern state of Campeche.
