1.   Marsam stopped producing both drugs and issued a product recall in June in response to a federal investigation into manufacturing deficiencies.

2.   The FDA found manufacturing deficiencies at another Schein subsidiary, Marsam Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, during an inspection in July.

3.   The FDA in the past year also has sent warnings for serious manufacturing deficiencies to Hoffmann-La Roche and Genetech.

4.   The manufacturing deficiencies have been corrected.
