1.   Among them is ginger lily, a perennial pleaser, its perfume bounding off the wall like a happy cat to greet us each time we come home.

2.   Before mid-September, my ginger lily bloomed, after skipping last year.

3.   But the ginger lily did nothing but grow foliage.

4.   Ginger lily, rose campion, Louisiana irises, the yellow ones.

5.   Knowing that no plant necessarily blooms by the clock, I was not concerned in early August when not even a bud had appeared on the ginger lily.
