1.   There were similar conditions in Suffolk where police evacuated low-lying properties in Southwold and Aldeburgh and many coastal roads were closed by flooding.

2.   Flooding also closed the New York State Thruway on Friday night between Depew in Erie County and Pembroke in Genesee County.

3.   Flooding closed roads and streets throughout the Bay Area and elsewhere in Northern California.

4.   In northern Palm Beach County, flooding closed dozens of roads and prevented some garbage collection and mail delivery.

5.   Roads in parts of Florida and Alabama were closed by flooding, and the states were preparing for severe flooding.

6.   Roads were closed by flooding in southern Bergen and Passaic counties, the Bronx and Queens.

7.   Flooding closed roads farther north in Craven and Pamlico counties.

8.   Flooding closed roads and affected other low-lying areas in Jacksonville, N.C., and Denmark and Bamberg, S.C.

9.   Officials in neighboring Poland, Germany and Austria, where flooding closed some roads, reported smaller problems and expressed optimism that serious flooding could be avoided.
