1.   Atlanta right defensive end Chuck Smith, who has five sacks in six games against Carolina, is not happy about the change.

2.   Broncos defensive ends Neil Smith, a former Chiefs All-Pro, and Alfred Williams harassed Grbac with two sacks each.

3.   Defensive ends Michael McCrary and Rob Burnett now had a good angle to the passers.

4.   Defensive ends Michael Strahan and Keith Hamilton argued on the sideline during the game, though Strahan and his teammates downplayed it.

5.   Defensive end Dorian Boose, who scored twice on fumble recoveries, and Bender are all-league candidates.

6.   Defensive ends Greg Ellis and Kavika Pittman did not have a sack during five exhibition games.

7.   Defensive ends Hurvin McCormack and Michael Myers will also help out at tackle.

8.   Defensive end Jim Jeffcoat and about a half-dozen other Cowboys sported the strips in recent games.

9.   Defensive ends Bobby Hamilton and Anthony Pleasant had modest totals of seven and six sacks.

10.   Defensive ends Charles Haley and Tony Tolbert, and a blitzing Darrin Smith all had second-half sacks to thwart any Giants comeback.
