3.   Coalition deputies stayed away from parliament sessions this week at which the opposition sought his reinstatement.

4.   Many ruling coalition deputies were outside the chamber but refused to enter and declare themselves present.

5.   Meanwhile, coalition deputies loudly applauded Lexa, urging him to carry on.

6.   But political analysts said Ciller was likely to survive also in those two votes as governing coalition deputies would once again have the majority in parliament.

7.   Coalition deputies meanwhile voted in the lower house of the German parliament Friday to abolish a tax on company capital assets which the government says discourages business and investment.
