1.   Andrus Veerpalu of Estonia came virtually out of nowhere to clinch the silver, while Mikhail Botwinov of Austria took the bronze.

2.   Germany also dominated team show jumping, and U.S. riders clinched the silver ahead of Brazil.

3.   Stefan Kaltschuetz of Austria, who won the bronze medal Wednesday in the giant slalom, followed up by clinching the silver in the parallel event.

4.   The Ukrainians clinched the silver by two hundredths of a second, with Dennark only half a second behind the Canadian boat.
