1.   All coaches would be certified annually in CPR.

2.   The district bought lightning detectors, and all coaches must be certified in CPR by fall.

3.   The Washington-based federation certifies coaches and sets ethical standards.

4.   Volunteer coaches are certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association, Garza said.

5.   The NCAA also would push the Amateur Athletic Organization and high schools to certify the coaches of their summer teams.
