1.   Bison meat sometimes fetches about double the price of beef, and bison calves often bring triple the price of beef calves at fall auctions.

2.   Even wider gaps can be found in the growth rates of beef calves in feedlots.

3.   Last June, UGA and ProLinia unveiled eight cloned Angus beef calves with virtually the same genetic makeup from a prize cow too old to reproduce.

4.   That means fewer beef calves will be born this year -- providing less meat a year or two from now.
