1. We recommend the following guidelines for antibiotic treatment of acne in both hospital and general practice. 2. Cyclosporin treatment was stopped but the patient continued to deteriorate and died from sepsis and shock in spite of antibiotic treatment. 3. The fragments were excreted spontaneously through the ductus choledochus and the cholecystitis was cured by antibiotic treatment. 4. This is known to be a life threatening condition and antibiotic treatment was started while awaiting bacterial cultures of the biopsy specimens and gastric contents. 5. During this antibiotic treatment the patient experienced no relief of symptoms. 6. Bacterial phlegmonous gastritis either responds to antibiotic treatment or results in death of the patient. 7. In our patient all cultures were negative and antibiotic treatment had no effect. 8. He subsequently developed fever and a mass in the neck, but died despite antibiotic treatment and nutritional support. |
