An area of heavy snow showers will mark the advance of this very cold air into the southern Great Lakes and northern Appalachians late Sunday. 13. An exception will be found across portions of the interior Northeast where a weak front will bring clouds and some light snow showers. 14. Arctic air crossing the upper Great Lakes will produce snow showers and squalls from northern Michigan to central New York. 15. As chilly air is drawn toward the low, some snow showers will occur in portions of Minnesota. 16. As a result, clouds and snow showers will persist in the mountains of northern New England as Atlantic moisture wraps inland around the stagnant area of low pressure. 17. As cold winds from the northeast develop, scattered rain showers near the Great Lakes will turn to snow showers as the front makes steady progress to the Southeast. 18. As colder air surges toward the eastern Great Lakes, more snow showers will develop. 19. As a result, snow showers will be common near the eastern Great Lakes and over the higher terrain of New England. 20. As the bitter air crosses the unfrozen waters of the Great Lakes, snow showers and squalls will develop across western Michigan. |
