1.  Government cannot and should not do everything.

2.  I mean, no government could.

3.  American government can and must do better.

4.  And where the Internet provides access to more pornography and hate speech than governments can stomach, it also provides the tools to let their citizens protect themselves.

5.  All that depends on how fast the government can accommodate our ministers and accommodate our services.

6.  But by rushing into expensive and ill-considered policies that attempt to do the impossible, the government can easily make matters worse.

7.  But its members are dramatically more likely than other Americans to say that government can and should do something about the layoff problem.

8.  But, rather than supplanting charities, government can --and should -- do more to strengthen them.

9.  Everyone was comfortable with the idea that judges should have the last word on what the government can and cannot do.

10.  Few Democratic candidates today openly promote the Democratic Party ideal that government can and should be used to solve social and economic problems.
