1.  As a result, Gulf moisture will rapidly converge ahead of an advancing cool front.

2.  A broken band of strong thunderstorms will form along the advancing cool front from North Carolina to Georgia.

3.  A warming and moistening of the Gulf States will occur Tuesday as tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico presses north behind a slowly advancing front.

4.  Farther south, the threat of severe thunderstorms will also be heightened across the Middle Atlantic states, where the advancing cool front encounters high heat and humidity.

5.  Strong thunderstorms will occur farther west over the central Plains where the advancing front encounters very warm and humid conditions during the afternoon.
