1.  During the drought, water companies used water from the emergency reservoirs, gambling that normal rainfall would soon fill them up again.

2.  Firstly, you need to work out how much water you use - estimates vary from area to area.

3.  If the potatoes have been peeled the cooking water can be used for sauces or soups.

4.  If your tap water is of doubtful quality then you must be prepared to remedy the situation or use rain water instead.

5.  No new rain water is used.

6.  Only distilled water should be used for cleaning contact lenses.

7.  The aromatic waters can be used in the same way as commercial products - splashed on after a bath or shower.

8.  The first option is to extract water from subsurface permafrost and use that water directly in a nuclear or solar steam rocket.

9.  The stored water is then used to irrigate nearby agricultural land.

10.  There is considerable pressure to use these waters for recreation, and they receive much disturbance.
