1.   Another cure is to use ceiling paint, which is lighter in weight than standard wall paint.

2.   Another way to get a semitransprent stain look is to thin down a white solid color stain or interior latex wall paint, and apply one coat of that.

3.   Apply a coat of latex enamel undercoater, and finish with two coats of an eggshell finish latex wall paint.

4.   Apply a latex enamel undercoater and finish with one or two coats of a flat, latex wall paint.

5.   Apply one coat of a latex enamel undercoater and finish with one or two coats of an eggshell or flat finish latex wall paint.

6.   Apply one coat of enamel undercoater and finish off with a latex wall paint.

7.   A way around that is to use a flat, not an eggshell, finish latex wall paint, which is more likely to even out the finish.
