1. The addition of lecithin progressively shifted cholesterol to the non vesicular phase. 2. Addition of phosphatidylethanolamine caused an almost complete shift of cholesterol to the vesicular phase. 3. Phosphatidylethanolamine shifted most of the cholesterol to the vesicular phase while phosphatidylserine moved it to the non-vesicular fraction. 4. Saturated fatty acids were more abundant in the vesicular phase and unsaturated ones were more abundant in the micellar phase. 5. Therefore, the relative distribution of cholesterol in the vesicular phase was measured and compared. |
