1.   A loose valve seat usually falls out totally and damages the engine very quickly.

2.   If you use unleaded in an engine not designed for it then premature failure of the exhaust valve seats will result.

3.   It will cost more to repair the burnt valve seats and valves than the saving on fuel.

4.   The only effective remedy is to install hardened valve seats or a replacement cylinder head, both expensive options.

5.   A complete kit should include a new cam, cam washer, two valve seats, seat springs and an instruction sheet showing the correct replacement procedures.

6.   If the faucet still drips, the valve seats or the cam washer are probably worn and should be replaced.

7.   Replace the flapper, and clean the valve seat.

8.   Remove the neoprene valve seats and springs by prying them loose with a screwdriver.

9.   The flapper valve seats, the tank fills up and the water shuts off.

10.   The lift wires that guide the ball into position on the valve seat hang up and misalign the ball with the seat.
