1.   Among his birthday presents are a skateboard, a tiny plastic Indian figurine and an old wooden cupboard.

2.   At the end of one prong is a tiny wood figurine of a horned female.

3.   She has made bronze, paper and wax sculptures of the Virgin Mary, nude and flayed, a rosary necklace and tiny winged figurines she calls faeries.

4.   The only color comes from spindly plants, tiny animal figurines, framed photographs and, when she works, colored stones like coral, tourmaline and aquamarine.

5.   The tiny figurines fill four curios along one wall and decorate just about every end table and shelf.
