5.   Wednesday, the slightly weakening system will churn across the upper Middle West, producing a variety of weather.

6.   A vast low pressure system churned slowly across the Midwest on Thursday, leaving record cold in its wake and dropping rain from the northern Plains to the Northeast.

7.   Clouds were rapidly increasing over the Northeast as the system churned that direction.
