1. All strikers had to resort to some extent to borrowing, credit, casual work and other ways and means of managing. 2. Standing still was important for if the conker was swaying about, the striker had a free go. 3. And the strikers had just one strategist and none of the elaborate war plans that many unions develop before a successful strike. 4. But beyond the satisfaction of honoring their heritage as union men and women, the strikers have little to show for a year on the streets. 5. It is conceivable that before the striking players return to work, those seven strikers will have the opportunity to be free agents. 6. Many strikers have substantial savings, due at least in part to working large amounts of overtime for years. 7. Sgt.
