1.   Kimmell said that modern sprinkler systems can usually be installed by an experienced sprinkler contractor in a day or two without digging up the entire lawn.

2.   One important difference between an experienced high-quality sprinkler contractor and a trunk-slammer, Kimmell said, is the way each approaches a sprinkler project.

3.   Ratajewicz of Accurain Irrigation Systems said that wherever possible, an experienced sprinkler contractor will use highly efficient drip irrigation.

4.   Richard Hodavance, business manager for a union representing sprinkler contractors, agreed.
