1.   As the weather cools in the fall, the spent blooms take on the color of mahogany.

2.   Cut the cane of a spent flower just above the juncture of the second outwardly facing five-leaf leaflet below the spent blooms.

3.   It is especially helpful to remove spent blooms from those lantana that berry, or seed, to encourage more flowers.
